Instagram Offers Three Slick Ways to Manage Like Counts, Instead of Removing

Since Instagram got launched on the social media platform, it has been playing with its Like Counts. In about half a dozen countries, it has been conducting a test where it hides like counts altogether. Although Instagram has thought of revamping it and is giving its users a choice to customize how like counts work in a new test.

The latest test is happening on the global stage for a small proportion of Instagram users. Instead of removing Like Counts when viewing other’s posts as it did in the testing that started in 2019, the part of the new experiment will give three choices. Those three choices are as follows: “choosing not to see like counts on anyone’s posts, turning them off for their own posts, or keeping the original experience.”

The primitive goal of the original test was to let the followers focus on videos and photos rather than how many like counts do the post gets. Momentarily, Instagram noted that in the early stages the feedback was positive from the users. Back then, Instagram contemplated that gathering access to like counts is influential and significant for content creators and brand advertising. The new test makes sense in consideration of all this.

Earlier when the original test got conducted in 2019, Instagram said, “this is a fundamental change to Instagram, and so we’re continuing our test to learn more from our global community.”The new test will give the users full authorization to the Like Counts, as it is a bolstering factor for the creators who are willingly eager to know about their posts. Instagram hasn’t shared many details on the test as of now. To unveil more interesting updates on Instagram, and other social media platforms, stay tuned with us!
