Dr. Anthony Fauci Predicts the Future of J&J Vaccine

Dr. Anthony Fauci on Sunday predicted that the US health regulators will end the temporary pause on distributing Johnson& Johnson’s vaccine. The decision could be made as early as Friday, he asserted when asked about how much time it will take to end the temporary shutdown.

“My estimate is that we will continue to use it in some form. I doubt very seriously if they just cancel it. I don’t think that’s going to happen. I do think that there will likely be some sort of warning or restriction or risk assessment,” Fauci said in an interview to the news agencies.

US Health regulators last week called out the pause of the J&J vaccine after reports of six cases of rare brain blood clots in Women emerged. These were the rare cases out of the 7 million people who have received the shot of the single dose vaccine in the United States. The US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention advisory panel is all set to meet on April 23 to discuss the next steps on the vaccine supply. Whether it will be allowed to rollout once again or we could perceive another extended shutdown. The situation seeks clarity and that’s why the US administration will give its final call.

Anthony Fauci further asserts that he doesn’t know whether any new reports have surfaced, and he could see resumption of the vaccine. It will all get decided on Friday. On Sunday, he focused on another concerning point in an interview. He laid out a possible timeline for when children could be vaccinated against Covid-19. It is necessary that the school-going children must get vaccinated by the fall term, as they continue their learnings offline by least from July 2021.
