Apple Planning to Ship Foldable iPhones

Apple is planning to ship between 15 million and 20 million Foldable iPhones when they go on sale in 2023. The phone will have an 8-inch foldable display, the analyst also predicted.The analysts also said that they predict that foldable devices will blur the product segmentations between smartphones, tablets and laptops in the future. With its cross-product ecosystems and hardware design advantages, Apple will be the biggest winner in the new foldable device trend.

It follows reports that Apple had already produced a prototype Foldable iPhones. Apple will work alongside Samsung to supply the foldable OLED screen. A recent survey showed half of US consumers are still interested in buying foldable phones, with 47% of iPhone owners showing interest. Apple didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

According to YouGov said that Half of US consumers are either very (16%) or l (34%) interested in buying a foldable phone as their next device. Meanwhile, 52% of Samsung owners are interested in a foldable device, while 47% of iPhone owners showed interest. That’s still a sizable portion of Apple customers, though the slightly lower number could be because the iPhone maker doesn’t yet have a foldable phone offering something that could soon change.

Reports in January said Apple has started working on a prototype display for a Foldable iPhones, and a recent report from longtime Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests 2023 could be the year we finally see such a device, though the details are still up in the air. Apple shipped 52.4 million iPhones to capture a 15% market share from the January to March quarter of this year.
